Privacy Policy Last updated: 6 August 2026 This Privacy Policy explains how Wedlancer Private Limited ("Wedlibrary", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use Wedlibrary.com (the "Platform"). We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here, and we handle it in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Platform. 1. Information we collect Information you give us - Account details: name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form), and optionally your studio or business name, city, and phone number. - Billing details: billing name, address, GSTIN (if you provide one), and subscription plan. Card and bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment gateways (Razorpay, Stripe) — we never see or store your full card number, CVV, or UPI credentials. - Content you create: saved songs, favourites, playlists, tags, and notes. - Communications: anything you send us by email or through a contact form. Information we collect automatically - Search and usage history: the searches you run, filters you apply, songs you open, playlists you generate, and how you interact with suggestions. - Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, and timestamps — logged for security, fraud prevention, and debugging. - Session data: authentication cookies that keep you signed in (see our Cookies Policy). What we do not collect We do not collect sensitive personal data such as biometric information, health data, or financial account credentials. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural tracking pixels on the Platform. 2. How we use your information Providing the service — Creating and maintaining your account, authenticating you, saving your playlists and favourites Powering AI suggestions — Using your search history and interaction patterns to improve the relevance of song recommendations, both for you and across the Platform in aggregate Billing — Processing subscription payments, renewals, invoices, and tax records Support — Responding to your questions, complaints, and requests Marketing — Sending newsletters, product updates, feature announcements, and offers — only where you have opted in, and always with a one-click unsubscribe Security and legal — Detecting abuse, preventing fraud, enforcing our Terms, and complying with legal obligations A note on AI and your search history. Your searches and interactions help us tune our recommendation models. This is done using aggregated and de-identified signals wherever possible — we are interested in patterns ("editors searching for sangeet music often shortlist X"), not in individuals. We do not sell your search history, and we do not share it with third parties for their own AI training. 3. Legal basis for processing We process your personal data on the basis of: - Your consent, which you give when you create an account and, separately, when you opt in to marketing communications; - Performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to deliver the subscription you have paid for; - Legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act, including responding to your requests and complying with law; - Legal obligation, such as maintaining tax and accounting records. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7). Withdrawing consent for essential processing may mean we can no longer provide the service. 4. How we share information We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: - Service providers who help us operate the Platform, strictly on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations. These include our cloud hosting and database provider, payment gateways, transactional and marketing email providers, and AI/embedding infrastructure providers used to generate song suggestions. - Professional advisers such as our accountants and lawyers, where necessary. - Authorities, where disclosure is required by law, court order, or a valid request from a government agency. - A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring — in which case this policy continues to apply, or you will be notified of any change. Some of these providers may process data on servers located outside India. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection, and we transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India. 5. Third-party links Clicking a YouTube or Spotify link takes you to a service we do not control. Those platforms collect their own data under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices — please review their policies directly. 6. Data retention - Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. - After you delete your account, we erase or irreversibly anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law. - Financial and tax records are retained for 8 years as required under Indian tax and company law. - Aggregated, de-identified data that can no longer be linked to you may be retained indefinitely to improve the Platform. 7. Your rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to: - Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed; - Correct inaccurate or incomplete data, and complete or update it; - Erase your personal data where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected; - Withdraw consent at any time, including opting out of marketing emails; - Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity; - Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us and, if unresolved, escalate to the Data Protection Board of India. To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@wedlibrary.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and, in any case, within the timelines prescribed by law. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request. Most account and marketing preferences can also be changed directly from your account settings. 8. Security We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls limiting internal access to authorised personnel, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs that affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required under the DPDP Act. 9. Children The Platform is intended for professionals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. 10. Material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on the Platform. 11.
